October 14: Psalm 106; 1Timothy 1-2

Song for Today:
I love To Tell The Story
In the Cross Alone I Glory

Praise the Lord!
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
•••
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel
From everlasting to everlasting!
And let all the people say, “Amen!”
Praise the Lord!
from Psalm 106

we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.
•••
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
•••
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
from 1Timothy 1

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all
•••
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
from 1Timothy 2
